Phishing is a fraudulent attempt to obtain sensitive information by disguising as a trustworthy entity in electronic communications. It's highly likely that you have received an email or SMS from a scam trying to steal your sensitive data. Today, we will guide you on how to detect these attempts to prevent impersonation or data theft.

Suspicion

If you see that any of these cases are true, be suspicious and consider contacting the support team here.

  • If the email domain is different: In this case discard the email directly, you can report it to us to add it in our database in case we don't have it.

  • If the domain is the same, but has a button, link or download file: In this case check if the domain is different, if it is, discard it and again you can let us know, if it is a download file, check if it is a legal file, or if you did not expect that file, better avoid downloading it.
  • If the domain is the same but the email is strange or has a suspicious intent: Then again you can let us know, it is common for cybercriminals to use email spoofing.
  • If you are asked for credentials or a wire transfer: As an account management team, we have access to your account without requesting your information, so anyone requesting your credentials is a scam.
  • They can spoof phone numbers as well as the domain from which the email is sent to the victim, so if you suspect that they are asking for your credentials or similar, do not do it and report it immediately.

Considerations to bear in mind

  • Cybercriminals may threaten you with false data, or leaked credentials to try to force you to make a transfer, don't do it, in 87% of the cases it is a scam and they don't have your videos or data.
